Map of the British Isles — England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland — showing literary landmarks related to both authors and their works. A small portion of France across the English Channel is also included. The map is decorated with small rectangular line illustrations in both color and black and white such as “The Compleat Angler” with his fishing gear, Sherwood Forest, and a church in York labeled “Here Wilfred & Rowena were married.” Off the coast of Normandy an illustration of a ship is labeled “Virginia Woolf’s Voyage Out.” Cartography is simple, with the borders of Scotland and Ireland highlighted yellow and green respectively and county boundaries indicated by dotted lines. There are two small inset street maps of parts of London and Edinburgh. The British Coat of Arms decorates the upper left corner. A simple blue border contains yellow text in block letters reading, “‘How small the map of Britain is on paper and yet how packed with fancies.'”
