Inscriptions verso: “Sunday Feature 4 Page 1 From High Points of City. Ships buildings & docks are dwarfted [sic.] when viewed from the gallery atop the Woolworth Building where if it wasn’t for soft coal smoke the whole city could be viewed.”
The 60-story Woolworth Building was completed in 1913 at 233 Broadway as the company headquarters for the Woolworth retail store chain. At the time, it was the tallest building in the world. It remained the tallest building in New York City until the construction of the Chrysler Building in 1929.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall toning and wear, minor soiling, cockling, scratches. Small chip to lower corner.
