Sunlit view of the green lawn and leafy trees — probably City Hall Park — with a family walking on the path and the striking silhouettes of nearby buildings, apparently including the Manhattan Municipal building (white building with angled facade in center). It is from a series of paintings of New York City scenes by George Stimmel.

George Stimmel was a painter, lithographer, etcher, illustrator and designer.  Born in New Jersey, he studied at the Pratt Institute of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  Stimmel worked as a set designer at the Metropolitan Opera and was a member of the Scenic Artists Union.  He also exhibited his work at the Salmagundi Club and Salons of America.  His artwork typically depicted landscapes and scenes of daily life.  He made a large series of etchings of New York City landscapes and cityscapes often featuring bridges.

Condition: Each generally very good with the usual overall light toning, wear, handling.  Margins with some light toning, and minor tape or glue residue from former matting, easily rematted out.
