Small wooden fragment of the ceiling beam in the New York City residence of Samuel Langorne Clemens (Mark Twain). Framed in a mat with a photograph of Twain and paper labels as follows:

b. November 30, 1835, d. April 21, 1910
This wood section was part of the original ceiling beam from the home of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, whose writings under the name of Mark Twain, are a monument in American Literature. The ‘Mark Twain’ residence, built in 1840, demolished in April, 1954, was located at 21 Fifth Avenue, New York City.”
