The terrestrial globe in calibrated chromed half meridian, raised on a mahogany base with turned baluster central standard and large turned round dish base. This so-called News of the World Business Globe extensively shows shipping routes and railways. The News of the World is the name of a British newspaper for whom this globe was probably made.

Description

Geographical divisions are brightly colored in outline in green, yellow and orange. Manchukuo shown. Rio de Oro in yellow, then green. The style of the cartography and the cartouche are those of George Philip & Son, prominent British globe makers who likely produced this globe.
