2-Inch Tin Bank Advertising Globe

Tin bank globe with coin slot produced as an advertisement for the Cribben & Sexton company’s line of Universal Stoves and Ranges. The globe is mounted at its axis points within a simple tin stand with a shaped flat face that is decorated with a wreath printed in colors surrounding the globe; the lower portion is printed with company slogan and information. It stands with an easel type angled support in the back.

Description

The Cribben & Sexton Company was a major manufacturer of stoves, co-founded in Chicago by Colonel James A. Sexton (b. 1844), a Civil War veteran. The company was in operation from at least the 1880s to the 1950s.
