Description
Quaglio began his career painting scenery for architectural stage sets, later turning to drawing and painting architecture and landscapes. He recorded views of his home city of Munich and monuments of Central Europe. In 1833, then Crown Prince Maximilian II of Bavaria commissioned him to oversee the restoration of the royal castle of Schloss Hohenschwangau, an unusual architectural monument which is open to the public today.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, soft creases.
