Two-sided round hanging sign (both sides shown in photo): “Salem Willows Special Car.”

Handwritten inscription on one side: “Jolly Tars Accident 1.25 a.m., Carney’s Corner, Lawrence, Nov. 3, 1904.” Salem Willows is an oceanfront neighborhood and amusement park in Salem, Massachusetts. Lawrence, Massachusetts is about 20 miles from Salem. “Jolly Tars” refers to seamen of the Royal Navy.
