Two wooden sets of Ten Commandments tablets. Each takes the form of a pair of tablets with arched tops, joined at the center, and painted with the commandments in black calligraphic Hebrew lettering. One set is painted white with a gilt backside, and the other is painted with a bronzed gilded tone on the front and gilt on the back. They were almost certainly made for ceremonial use by Odd Fellows lodges.

According to biblical Book of Exodus, the 10 Commandments were written by God upon two tablets of stone and then given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is an international social organization promoting fellowship and the betterment of humanity, founded in 1819 by Thomas Wildey in Baltimore, Maryland.

Condition: Generally very good with some light scattered wear and minor chips to the paint.
