Description
A design such as this was typically used as a preliminary study for fabrics, wall paper, or decorative arts such as ceramics or metal work. Decorative arts designs were also done as exercises by architecture students, sometimes copied from other sources.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soft creases. Faint toning from former matting in outer margins, can be rematted out when framed. Remnants of former hinges in upper margin, backside, appears stable and not affecting the front.
