Pen and ink cartoon of a literal cat fight, a sardonic take on the proverb “There is more pleasure in giving than receiving.” Two alley cats box in the moonlight, standing on their hind legs and wearing boxing gloves; one has landed a blow knocking the other cat off a stone wall. In the sky above them a crescent moon with a face looks on, and a bat flies by. Houses are indicated in the background.
Condition: Illustration generally very good with the usual overall light toning and wear. Usual overall light wear to vintage, possibly original, frame.
