Paul Brown was a prolific and respected illustration artist, working in etching, drawing and painting, and specializing in sport subjects, particularly horses in action. Also a writer, Brown authored and illustrated the books Aintree, Spills and Thrills, Hits and Misses and Crazy Quilt. He also illustrated over 100 other books, including Hunting Pie and Fox Hunt Formalities. His magazine illustrations appeared in leading magazines of his era: Cosmopolitan, Collier’s, Harper’s Bazaar, Liberty and  American Legion.
