It is carved giltwood with painted and faux-marbleized highlights, having a well-carved scallop shell backrest with curved lower support for the book, above an undulating frieze with two opposing molded legs. It is canted at a stationary angle with an easel support in the back.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall light wear and handling.
