A well-carved wooden mythological winged lion, with large mane and  fierce facial expression, standing on his hind legs and holding a scrolled shield with a cypher of letters CBE. Probably originally an architectural element.

Condition: Fair, some extremities chipped off and lacking.  Backside flat, as made.  Still overall very decorative.
