Three overlapping beehive-form Sanctus brass bells topped with a decorative cruciform finial, raised on a turned wooden base with disc feet. Each bell sounds with a different tone when struck with a gong mallet. Sanctus bells are rung by a server as part of a Catholic or Episcopal mass during the Eucharist. This bell tower came from a church in New Jersey. It features heavy, high quality castings and probably was used around the 1930s and 1940s.

“Sanctus Bell.” The Episcopal Church. (24 October 2014).
