Historical golf print of aristocratic Georgian-period golfers at Bruntsfield Links, Edinburgh. This print is matted with a description set below:

BRUNTSFIELD LINKS, formerly part of the Borough Muir of Edinburgh, have been the home of golf for centuries.

In the latter half of the seventeenth century and during the eighteenth century they were the fashionable resort of the elite of Edinburgh's citizens. Allan Ramsay and other writers of the period make frequent references to the Links, while Sir Walter Scott in several of his novels makes his characters speak of "Taking a turn at the golf or Saturday at e'en."
