Brass sign for installation in banks to promote the benefits of savings accounts. The title of the sign is "Money at Interest is a Good Silent Partner.” Another slogan on the sign states: “Open a Savings Account at this Bank today and watch it grow. $1.00 or more will start you." The subtitle of the sign explains that it is comprised of a "Table showing accumulation of deposits of $1.00 to $10.00 weekly and interest at 4 per cent per annum compounded semi-annually." The sign is lettered in black within a scotch rule border and attached to a wood backing board with 10 brass screws in decorative roundel washers. The manufacturer and copyright date (1914 -- the year World War I started in Europe) are inscribed lower right.
