Remarkable large natural history studies -- bold, realistic and imposing. In one, a monumental owl -- probably a Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) -- sits on a weathered tree overlooking a valley with a mountain peak in the distance. In the other, a sinuous leopard prowls through lush vegetation.

Charles Brittan was a British artist. He worked in watercolor, and was primarily a painter of landscapes and animals.
