Original map depicting the Austrian municipality of Maria Enzersdorf, located just outside of Vienna, showing buildings in architectural plan form, together with roads, lawns and other features; trees, grasses, shrubs are shown in pictorial perspective. This manuscript map was drawn as a school project by an architecture student at the K. K. Technische Hochschule, founded in 1815 and now called the Technische Universität Wien [Vienna University of Technology]. The student meticulously rendered the design in fine detail and tinted various features with shades of green and pink watercolor. In addition to the student’s signature, it is dated and signed with a flourish by the professor lower left, whose name appears to read “Prof. Ans. Sineu.”
Oval school stamp bottom margin: “K. K. TECHNISCHE HOCHSCHULE/ LEHRKANZEL/ FÜR/ PRAKTISCHE GEOMETRIE/ WIEN”
