A complex metamorphic astronomy chart, printed on heavy card stock, containing various cutouts with tissue backing to be illuminated by backlighting, and with five flaps secured by metal tabs each opening to a second level with images printed on tissue for backlighting.

This rare chart was issued as part of a boxed set, which originally included an ethnographic chart of the peoples of the world, geology maps, and a raised relief map. In other works, Yaggy also produced a metamorphic anatomical chart with tabs of various levels, and co-wrote books on a variety of topics, from popular guides for living a successful and morally virtuous life to books on ethnic anthropology and life in antiquity.

The five sections as follows:

Central Section -- North Sky Circumpolar Celestial Hemisphere and North Sky Planisphere.

Level 1. At the center of the chart is a north sky circumpolar celestial hemisphere, the night sky shown in light blue, the constellations shown as regions rather than as figures, the stars white in various sizes and forms to magnitude, with cut out tissue-backed figures of the sun, planets and their moons.

Level 2. "Chart of the Heavens Showing the Stars Visible at Any Moment Through the Entire Year." This northern circumpolar planisphere is comprised of an opening revealing the constellation figures brightly colored, with outer dial of the months and days of the year. It apparently was intended to be rotated as a volvelle but no longer readily turns.

Top Right Spandrel - The Moon
Level 1. "The Moon." An image of a crescent moon.
Level 2. "Moon as Seen Through the Largest Telescope Photo Reproduction." An image of the surface of the moon.

Top Left Spandrel - Sun and Moon Phases
Level 1. "Eclipse of the Sun." An image of a full eclipse of the sun.
Level 2. "Phases of the Moon." Diagram of moon phases with central circumpolar map of the earth, and images of orbiting moons showing various phases.

Lower Right Spandrel - Meteor Shower and Seasons
Level 1. "Meteoric Shower." An image of meteor shower in woodland setting.
Level 2. "The Change of Seasons." Hemispheric map of the earth showing change of seasons relating to relative position to the sun.

Lower Left Spandrel - Zodiacal Light, Day and Night, World Time
Level 1. "The Zodiacal Light." An image of the zodiacal light in tropical setting.
Level 2. "A Movable Diagram Showing the Succession of Day and Night, also Giving the Comparative Time in Different Parts of the World." Circumpolar map of the earth, with outer time dial and figure of the sun. Apparently intended to be rotated as a volvelle but no longer readily turns.
