Wishbone Gavel

A gavel of unusual innovative design, the ivoroid round head with faceted elements, the handle joined in wishbone-form with incised decoration in the throat, and ending in ivoroid finial.   The head and finial seem to be ivoroid, a type of celluloid material imitating ivory or bone that was often used in the early 20th century for such things as tuning pegs and decorative trim on musical instruments.
