Bergdorf Goodman Store Windows
“Designers’ Choice” Easter Parade Windows
Fifth Avenue, New York City
April 2006
Items from the George Glazer Gallery were borrowed for the store windows of Bergdorf Goodman’s department store on New York City’s Fifth Avenue during the week of the Easter Parade. Spring fashions were artfully combined with antique globes, planetary models and celestial prints.
Among the globes and celestial items borrowed from the gallery for the windows included a Trippensee Tellurian (c. 1910); The Tiny Planetarium (1931); 12-Inch Handmade Celestial Globe (c. 1950s-1960s); Coronelli Style Ptolemaic Armillary Sphere (20th C.); Revolution Annuelle de la Terre (1854); Replogle 12-Inch Lunar Globe; Yaggy Planetary System Chart (1887); Outer Atmosphere, an acrylic painting by Helen Glazer; and a large hourglass (c. 1940s).
