“A History of American Globes, 1820 to Present” • Fall 2000
“A Moment in Time–The Twentieth Century at a Glance” • Fall 1999
In the Fall of 2000, George Glazer Gallery (and a client of the gallery) loaned a group of globes to the San Francisco Airport Commission exhibition A History of American Globes, 1820 to Present, shown above. Among the globes exhibited were examples by James Wilson, Gilman Joslin and Weber Costello.
In the Fall of 1999, the gallery also loaned our Rand McNally 18-inch table globe, copyrighted 1894, to the San Francisco Airport Commission exhibition A Moment in Time–The Twentieth Century at a Glance. The globe was included to show the world at the turn of the past century, the starting point of this exhibition of objects that became icons of American culture in the last 100 years.
