Large periodic table chart of 103 chemical elements in Russian, printed in shades of blue, green, orange and tan. There is also a diagram of the element polonium lower right that explains the symbols used on the chart. In the upper corner is a sepia-toned photograph of Dmitri Mendeleev (1834-1907), the Russian chemist and inventor who formulated the Periodic law and published the first periodic table in 1869, which accurately predicted the qualities of eight elements that had yet to be discovered. This colorful poster was published by a scientific publishing house in Moscow during the Soviet period and was apparently designed for classroom use.
