Portrait of two champion racing greyhounds standing facing in opposite directions in a field of short grass. The composition emphasizes their gracefully curving forms and powerful musculature. Aquatint printed in tones of grey and blue.

The caption in the lower margin reads: "Dividers of the Kempson Park Great Champion Stakes, 1884, Value, £1400. Manager is by Misterton, out of devotion, the property of Mr. Miller. Sea Pilot is by Hadde, out of sea beauty, the property of Mr. T. Stone."

George Rees was a printseller in business from at least 1884 to 1904.
