Uncut sheet of 18th-century French playing cards. Four rows of six cards each, comprising two jacks, two kings, and two queens, which are named for famous people in the Bible, literature and history. Images in the first two rows are repeated in the second two rows.
Characters portrayed (two of each) are:
Queens: Pallas, Judith, Rachel, Argine
Kings: David, Charles, Cesar (Caesar), Alexander
Jacks: Hogier, Lahire, Hector, Lancelot
