A terrestrial globe within a calibrated full meridian and circular horizon band with printed paper calendar and zodiac, raised on a mahogany stand with four turned columnar legs, joined by an incurved plinth, ending in rectangular feet. Oceans are blue, now faded to green, geographic entities are generally cream color, now faded to beige. Steamship and railroad lines are shown in red.

Rand McNally issued this 12-inch globe in a variety of stands, both metal and wood, in the 1930s.  This example is on a traditional stand, in the 18th century English Georgian taste.
