The terrestrial globe in calibrated full meridian, supported by a pair of flanking wooden baluster uprights set on a gilt-wood rectangular base decorated in the Florentine taste with incised foliate and geometrical designs with painted red highlights.

The stand is particularly suitable for library use, the front edge bearing a likeness to a leather bound book spine, and of small size for use on bookshelf or desk.
