The terrestrial globe surmounted by finial and metal hour circle, canted on a bronzed inclination arm, the mahogany stand with turned baluster standard and incurved triform plinth base with semicircular feet.

Oceans greenish blue. Geographical entities cream or green. Table below cartouche identifies scale and the following: Isothermal lines for January shown in blue, and isothermal lines for July shown in red. Warm currents shown with arrow with two points, and cold currents shown by arrow with one point. Principal railways shown by hatched line. International Date line shown with thick red line.

This globe was made by W.& A.K. Johnston (as evidenced by the G.W. Bacon, copyright) for school supplier and globe importer Weber Costello (as evidenced by the Weber Costello cipher), who in turn provided it to the seller, school supplier C.S. Hammond (bearing their overlabel, as issued).
