The terrestrial globe canted at an angle on bronze decorated inclination arm, turning on its axis by knob extending below South Pole, raised on an ebonized wooden stand with turned central standard and dish base.
Place names in French. Railroads, steamship lines, telegraphs indicated. J. Forest was one of the leading French manufacturers of globes of the late 19th and 20th Century, producing a variety of models for home and school use.
