Charming, small terrestrial globe surmounted by brass finial, in flat-band calibrated half meridian, canted at an angle on iron rod inclination rod, raised on a turned mahogany stand with central baluster standard, and dish base.

Oceans generally greenish blue, land masses generally green or pinkish khaki. Shows Atlantic Cable: "Cable 1865" and "Cable 1866." Ocean currents shown with white wavy lines. Polar calottes separate pieces applied.

Joseph and Herman Schedler, immigrants from Germany to the United States, produced a variety of table and floor globes, principally for educational use.
