The terrestrial globe surmounted by brass hour circle, in calibrated full bronze meridian, the octagonal horizon band with engraved paper calendar and zodiac, raised on tripod dark-stained wooden stand with central turned standard ending in cabriole legs, joined by a stretcher centered by a metal compass.

The globe has chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial graduated in degrees in both directions, the prime meridian running through Iceland and graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with latin zodiac signs, the oceans colored blue and showing ocean currents with fine black wavy lines and arrows, the continents colored burnt umber with nation states outlined in orange or green and showing rivers, mountains, towns and cities. Does not show steamship routes and submarine cable lines as is customary for later issues of this globe. The octagonal horizon band has engraved paper graduated in degrees, days of the houses of the Zodiac, with Zodiac pictures and signs and a two-faced Janus head between each, days of the month and wind directions, the corners decorated with various classical figures.
