Humorous Victorian print depicting a grey and black striped kitten overturning an inkwell onto a document on a desk. According the subtitle this was "Engraved from the original Picture exhibited at the Royal Academy 1882."
Frank Paton was a British painter and illustrator who specialized in whimsical paintings of animals, especially cats and dogs. His works are still reproduced as posters today.
J.B. Pratt made numerous engravings after animal paintings by British artists such as Frank Paton and E.H. Landseer.
E.E. Leggatt published many animal prints, by Frank Paton and other artists.
