Trivia game housed in a wooden box with a printed cover that slides off to reveal the playing materials. Inside the box is a hand spinner resting beneath a pane of glass above which the directions are mounted. There are three answer inserts that hug the outer portion of the box. Three double-sided circular question cards are provided that each correspond to one of the answer inserts. After a question is asked, the question card is placed upon the directions and aligned such that the question asked is placed in the top position. The hand spinner is then magnetically moved to reveal the correct answer.
The cover shows a wizard-type character pointing to an illustration of the sun, standing in a room filled with scientific equipment, books, and a globe.
The directions read: "In asking a question, place the Question Card so that it will fit exactly over this Disc, placing the question asked at the top, so that the dot on the edge will be directly opposite the dot on the top of this Disc, when the hand will immediately move in a quizzical manner, and in a few moments stop, and give the correct answer."
The Chiromagica game was exhibited in "Picturing Childhood: Illustrated Books from University of California Collections, 1550-1990" (UCLA, 1997) under the category of movable books, toys and games.
