According to the title inscribed on the mat, Esprit II was chartered by John B. McPherson of Old Lyme, Connecticut to compete in the annual Spring Series of races held by the Off Soundings Club (OSC). McPherson was an electro-mechanical engineer and a committee member of the OSC, a yacht racing organization founded in 1933 and based in Southern New England and New York State, that runs weekend races for its members. McPherson’s OSC Race Committee cloth blazer patch and OSC logo tie bar are included with the photograph.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall light toning. Dry mounted in hand-titled mat, in bleached-oak frame, probably as issued.
