Portrait of the 1919 Wadham College Rugby Team from Oxford University in its original mount and frame. Above the photograph appears the Wadham College coat of arms and the title in illuminated letters. The names of the members are listed in the lower margin of the mounting board.
The Gillman & Co. photography studio was founded in 1840 and was operated by Charles Gillman in Oxford from 1882 to 1910. The Gillman firm was later joined by another photographer, James Soame, Jr., and is still in business today as Gillman & Soame.
Condition: Photo generally very good with usual solarizing to outer portions and light wear. Mat good with usual overall toning and edge wear. Light mat burn to outer edge, hidden by gold fillet of frame.
