One of the finest equestrian trade catalogues of the 19th century produced by a leading New York City firm. The contents includes riding habits, racing uniforms and supplies, saddles, plumes, hitching posts, harnesses, carriage ornaments, whips, tack of all kinds and varieties, stable requisites, and veterinary supplies. They are illustrated with numerous chromolithographs and hundreds of black and white images. Many of the pictures are full and half page, and the items are labeled with colorful and decorative typography typical of the era. Moseman catalogues have frequently been reprinted over the past 30 years as a valuable record of 19th century material culture related to horses and carriages. This is an original one.

The title page states that the catalog is “For the Wholesale and Retail Trade” and features “Novelties and Stable Appointments Imported and Domestic.” It gives the address of the “warerooms” as 126 and 128 Chambers Street, New York, and lists other shops as being located in London, Paris, Berlin and Moscow.

Condition: Original cloth binding, spotted, soiled, quite worn and faded. Some soft wrinkling or cockling to the text block, a few leaves with very minor dampstaining and associated running of color along the outer margins and fore-edges.
