Formerly sold at W. & J. Sloane's of San Francisco, as evident from the pencil notation on verso.

Majel Warfield was born in New Orleans in 1905 and studied under F. Grant. She became a member of the New Orleans Art Association and the Southern States Art League. She sold a great deal of work through W. & J. Sloane and is a listed artist, appearing in Who Was Who in American Art, and Davenport's.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall toning and light wear to edges. Boards slightly warped.
