Charming original watercolor, executed in a delicate style and pastel colors typical of the neoclassical period of the late 18th century.  A peasant, apparently journeying between the countryside and the town in the distance, pauses at a grove of willow trees to allow his donkey to drink from a small pond.

Condition:  Generally very good with the usual overall light toning, wear, soft creases.  Hard diagonal crease lower left, not obtrusive.  Gum tape residue verso in corners where formerly mounted.  Few short marginal tears restored.
