Rare large advertising poster for a boltless oil pumping derrick produced by the Slater Steel Rig Company. The poster consists of a line drawing of the derrick surrounded by inset circular detail illustrations with captions explaining its various features and their advantages. The emphasis is on the use of rivets instead of bolts in its construction, making it sturdier and safer to operate. One of the illustrations shows “Slater’s Patented Corner Iron, Pat’d June 11, 1918.”
