An Englishman enters the alien feminine world of a French women's dress shop, and encounters a woman dressed in an exaggerated poufy dress and towering elaborate hat that leaves him exclaiming in astonishment. The caption reads: "Hope I don't intrude-Just look'd in to see the new style - left my umbrella in the corner -- Prodigious!!!" Surrounding them are displays of similarly over-the-top fashions, caricaturing the styles of the day.
Condition: Very good condition, the colors bright, the paper with the usual light overall toning, some minor scattered wear, soft creases. Rebacked by paper conservator to stabilize and restore various scattered, mostly marginal chips, tears, etc. |
