Interesting assemblage of dozens of caricature faces. According to the engraved credits they are based in some measure on the works of the great Renaissance artists Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci, though the characters appear to be English of the Georgian Period, perhaps in homage to or parodying the great masters. Enlightenment-era England saw a burgeoning fascination with categorizing and documenting variations and anomalies of nature, and prints depicting varieties of facial types were popular.

Jones & Co. published topographical prints and other subjects.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, soft creases.
