Painting of the earth as seen from outer space, encircled by a spiraling design of clouds. Special acrylics were employed to give the surface an iridescent glow. The painting is mounted on lazy susan hardware so that it may be rotated by hand to different positions for an intriguing effect. The whole assembly easily mounts to the wall.

Helen Glazer is a contemporary artist interested in the conjunction of art and science. She has completed two murals and several smaller works on astronomical themes, as well as several "rotating paintings," a format she innovated based on dial-based diagrams such as planispheres. Her current artwork is based on an exploration of botanical forms in a series of painted relief sculptures. A sampling of her murals, paintings and reliefs can be found online at helenglazer.com.
