Beautiful original neoclassical foliate design in purple tones, incorporating a pair of cornucopia with fruit, as well as a thyrsus (a staff tipped with a pine cone and decorative twine), grapes, and grape leaves associated with Dionysus, Greek god of wine.

This design is characteristic of those made during Regency period, a time of revival of classical motifs following the exploration of the Middle East spurred by Napoleon's explorations and conquests in Egypt. It might have been made for fabric, wall paper, or decoration on silver or ceramics.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soft creases.
