Walker was both the artist and lithographer of this sunlit view of London landmark Westminster Abbey. The great church is shown with pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages in the foreground. An architectural masterpiece of the 13th to 16th Centuries, Westminster Abbey has been the setting for every British coronation since 1066, and is the buriel place of kings, statesmen, warriors, scientists, musicians and poets.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual light toning, wear, soiling, soft creases. Few short tears in margins, neatly restored. Faint dampstain, lower right. Reference: http://www.westminster-abbey.org/history.htm |
