$750, the pair

Pair of original illustrations showing British army uniforms, those of the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and of the Prince of Wales's 10th Royal Hussars. The Cameronians uniform comprises a dark cap, blue plaid pants and olive shirt, tie, and overcoat supported by leather suspenders. The Royal guard wears more ornate garb, with gold trim and a stately headdress with a large white feather.

The Cameronians were formed in 1881 and grew to eight battalions; their last regular battalion was disbanded in 1968. The 10th Royal Hussars were nicknamed "The Chainy Tenth" because of the chain belts worn by the officers.

Condition: Generally very good with the usual overall toning, wear, and light soiling.
