Fine large pocket map of Oregon and Washington, the counties shown in bright tones of green, pink, and yellow. According to a legend in the lower margin, the map was "Compiled and drawn from all United States and railroad surveys made previous to March 1st, 1887, by W.H. Galvani, Civil Engineer, Portland Oregon." At the time, Oregon was a state, but Washington would not become one until 1889.
J.K. Gill & Company was a publisher of maps and books, including school textbooks. It opened in the 1880s in Salem, Oregon, and moved to Portland shortly thereafter.
Condition: Fine, a crisp clean example with little wear or toning, and without the usual separations and damages at folds.
