Map of the United States from the East Coast to Midwest territories east of the Rockies. Inset small railroad maps of New England and Atlantic routes. Inset "Map of Oregon, Northern California, Santa Fe &c." Vignette scene in upper left corner of Native Americans and in upper right corner of New York City harbor (with Castle Garden). Additional marginal vignette of Niagara Falls. Decorative border embellished in lower margin with American flag and shield trophy.
Condition: Green, red, blue, orange, yellow original outline color. Formerly a folding travelers map with folds as issued, now professionally flattened and backed with Japanese paper. Some wear at folds. Margins short as issued. Original covers lacking. Otherwise generally very good with the usual overall light toning, wear, soft creases. |
