Charming unusual map of North America set within decorative border, and illustrated with vignettes of native peoples, historical events, and natural wonders. Map generally uncolored, but with blue wide outline highlights. Vignettes fully colored.
Cartography relatively early, the west mostly comprising territories rather than states. Illustrations include Esquimaux Dog-sledge, North American Indians, Convoy of Diamonds, Cossacks, Ancient Monument Mexico, Falls of Niagara, Mount Hekla, Wapiti Deer, Beavers.
Condition: Generally very good with the usual light wear, toning, soiling. Some minor light waterstains lower margin. Laid down later on cardboard - appears stable as such.
