An attractive copper-lined container in mahogany stand, of slightly eccentric but charming and well-crafted Empire-period design, intended either as a jardiniere (plant stand) or champagne cooler. The mahogany stand with circular band raised by a series of vertical incurved tapering slats enclosing conforming copper liner, connected below with circular band on hexagonal base, supported by three curved legs.
Condition: Generally good, the wood and copper with nice patina overall. Few scattered restorations to slats and veneers. Legs possibly associated at later date, but with good age.
